I can relate to what you are talking about a lot more than I wish. I have lost about 80% of my high frequency hearing in my right ear, and about 40% in my left ear. My low frequency hearing is about 35% gone in both ears. Have a continuous ringing in my right ear (tinnitus). It seems I will hear people talking, but sometimes don't understand a word they are saying. I guess working around jets for 20 years now, and working on agriculture and industrial equipment for 7 years before that didn't do me any good. Still have to have a hearing test once a year, and since 2002 when they lowered my base line for the second time I've been able to pass them. When you find a good hearing aid, please post. I'm sure I'll be needing one also in a few more years. Jim
