I read all the previous responses to your issue. I thought I would add my 2 cents. I will NEVER buy a Dell computer again! I had the same problem and got tired of talking to some non-speaking english person. Spent 4 hours one night on their on-line support. That person couldn't understand what I was trying to tell them. Finally complained enough (after 8 phone calls)that they agred to send out a local person. That person laughed when I told her all the problems I had. She replaced the motherboard and memory. She said that's all she could do. If I had any more problems I had to start the process over again. The computer constantly locked up and I couldn't open Word. Finally "I" figured out it was the Norton anti-virus program that came with the computer and I had to pay for a year subscription after the demo ended. I disabled the program and everything works fine. I emailed Dell and their response was that it was not their problem since it's a software issue. Even though the program came with the Dell computer I bought. I tried to call or email a big shot at Dell but apparently they're all in India or somewhere that doesn't exist. Dell is on my never buy again list along with Best Buy and Subaru (that's a whole story by itself). Thanks for the time and glad it worked out for you.
