I'm in Western NY state not far from the Canadian border. I don't sell the hay but these prices are coming from the guy that bales my bedding hay and also sells hay. There is so little dry hay this year that beef guys that normally buy dry hay are buying silage bales and driving the price up. This year from September to November was ideal conditions for growing grass, yields were double what they were in the early part of the growing season, and this is an ideal time to make silage bales.
