Around here there have been several barns go to the ground from John Deers 10 and 20 seires tractors with that stupid 24 volt system one up the road from the old shop almost went if the guys wife had not heard the tractor running and asked her husband why the tractor was running he went up and opened the barn doors and his 4020 was running with fire comming out from under the dash and sparks fallen in the loose hay and straw on the barn floor he got on it and drove it out side and with the help of the hired hand and his wife got the tracor out and the small fire that started on the floor

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
