We did it a zillion times back in the 60's with a TO-20 Ferguson. We also cranked it a lot. We couldn't afford a new battery back then. Start it in third gear unless there is very little downhill grade and then use fourth gear. We could push it by hand on the level and start it. I still have the tractor now, but usually have a good battery. :o))
