Hi John, If you're going to use the cork, use it dry and only tighten the bolts to 18 inch pounds to assure that the gasket doesn't split. However, the best stuff I've ever found is a 3/8" bead of black RTV sealer on the metal all by itself. Stay inside the boltholes with the bead. Rattle it down and fill 'er up. I worked for years on commission and have done 'em by the trainloads. Allan
