Shade, In the 50's, 60's, and early 70's, LPG tractors were very popular in the Mississippi Delta. They are a clean burning tractor and the LPG was much cheaper than gasoline. The main drawback to LPG tractors is having the proper fueling facilities. Also refueling can be more dangerous and also a fuel leak in a closed area is a dangerous posability. As far as the tractor goes, the LP engine will produce equal or more power than the gasoline and the engine life will also be equal or longer than the same gasoline. However, before purchasing one, consider where and how you are going to fuel it. LPG now cost more than gasoline and the LP tractor will burn more gallons per hour than the gasoline version if you are planning on working it rather than just showing it. Just my two cents worth.
