I have never used the method but I know how it is supposed to work. Get a log chain large enough that your tractor can not break it. Obtain a large truck rim, 20 inch or larger. Secure the chain to the base of the post being extracted. Place the rim against the post and bring the free part of the chain up and over the rim then to the tractor drawbar and fasten. Pulling in this manner will transfer the horizontal pull of the tractor to a somewhat vertical pull on the post thus extracting the post. I do not remember if you chock the rim or not. I would not try this with less than a 50 hp tractor if the post have a lot of concrete around them. If you try this pls. post the results.
