Alright, I'm no left-wing, tree-hugging, volvo-driving enviromental-nazi, but don't go pouring used oil, anti-freeze, or any other hazardous materials on the ground. Uranium comes from the earth, but I would be damn pi$$ed if they decided to start dumping uranium next door. Need another reason? You give do-it-yourselfers a bad name. The EPA had already made it harder to buy good automotive paint due environmetal concerns. Callifornia tried to pass a law requiring all oil drain plugs to have a lock on them, so that do-it-yourselfers couldn't change their own oil, due to concerns about used oil and the environment. Don't give all of us a bad name. Like someone said, you can check with your local county health department, or your state EPA office. Some states are better than others. If you live in Illinois, you are in luck. The Illinois EPA has their stuff together, and has hazardous waste drop-offs all throughout the state all year. Check out http://www.epa.state.il.us/land/hazardous-waste/household-haz-waste/ They also hold collections every weekend in Rockford and Naperville. Bonus--they also have used tire collections, too. And they don't care how much you've got.
