Question on Limiter Chain Hookup

Finally made myself a set of limiter chains pretty much following the plans that have been circulating for the last year on these boards. I have one problem. By the time I put my lift arm and my sway chains that I made on the implement pin I have run out of room on the pin and can't fit the end of the limiter chain onto the pin. So does anyone see a problem with attaching the limit chain to the inside of the pin on the threaded side and adding an additional lock washer and nut to secure it. I don't believe that the geometry of how the chains work would change. About the only thing I could see that would be different would be that the end of the chain would not move as it would if it were attached on the smooth side. Does anyone see a problem or does anyone have any other suggestions other than changing the pins on my cutter. I can't find any longer pins. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
