Ken, Do you always run your truck at MAX speed? Do you always go to MAX revs in every gear? Do you always run your engine with the oil level at MAX? Max is what it says. You should under no circumstances exceed that value, but for an awful lot of the time you do not need to operate any where near to the max. Sure, if you put on 12 ply rated tyres it might say 120psi max and carry about 4 tonnes on each tyre at max speed of 30mph. Same tyres are used on lots of different vehicles, not suprising vehicle manufacturers know what is best for their vehicle. Stick to their recommendations. RAB
