We are also having a coyote hunting contest this weekend in Michigan. The hunting store that is sponsoring the contest sometimes has coyote calling champ come in from out west and tell us how it is done, all I can say is that what those guys do out west were they watch a coyote come in for 10 minutes from 500 yards does not work out east. None of those guys were ever able to get a coyote during our hunt. States like Michigan, Penn, and New York and the other eastern states offer the toughest hunts.Try to sneek into a area and spend up to 20 minutes calling. Do not treat it like it is deer hunting, you need to have a specific area you are going to call them out of, not like deer hunting were you plop down in the middle of the woods. They can also be anywhere any time.
