I wouldn't use a light weight 48hp tractor for round bales. We have a Kubota 5030 with a loader, weights on front and back tires. You have to be extremely careful picking up round bales on the front. Even with a bale on the back. It will turn over or if you aren't careful the back wheels will come off the ground. We just got a M9000 used to pick up bales. Life isn't worth risking just trying to get by. It is an uneasy feeling when all the sound the back wheels come off the ground. Just my two cents.
