Why not go right to John Deere for the pitman stick? When mounting a #8, a pipe doesn't work well if it runs all the way from one hook claw to the other, because when you raise the cutter bar, the bottom spring bolt, is forced into the solid pipe and will break. The mounting brackets for a B, are a piece of angle iorn that bolts to each side of the drawbar frame and a piece of 1-1/4" or whatever size solid rod that fits the claw about 3-4" long. Any 8" hydraulic cylinder will work here. I use a Allis Chalmers oneway 2" x8" cylinder. The B lifts the bar fine, and the smaller bore makes the response time vere fast, so when you want the bar to raise, it does instantly, instead of taking a few seconds, and goes down fast also. We have used 2 of these Bs w/#8s for years. they work real well.
