I have had much experience with Aluminum Siding over the years and have yet seen where the Siding failed but have seen many cases of Paint failure. Even some of the painted Steel Products for Barns such as Strongpanel experience Paint failure. The new Kynar paints for Steel Products being a Polyester base are a great improvement.Likewise Paint for Aluminum Siding refinishing is much better than what originally was used.If your Siding is dent and damage free a repaint with an correct Paint is not a big deal if done properly. Some Proffesional Painters ,but not all, can do the job right and you will be well satisfied. The North side of a Tree, Roof, House Side wall are always subject to Mold etc. more so than the South. If any thing the sun activates Chemicals in the Paint to preserve it. My View Point.
