Yes. I also recomend replaceing the electronic control device which sits on the fender.
Try disconnecting and reconecting the terminals first. The control modules did go quite often.
Buy a known good one from a scrap yard if you have doubts. Or borrow one from a friend to try for a while.

Also, when it stops, carefully touch the ignition coil. If it is real HOT, then change it.
