Paul, Primarly the higher compression ratio was the way the manufacturer obtained about the same or a little more horsepower from their LPG models vs their gasoline models. For example, The Farmall 450 gasoline had a compression ratio of 6.6 to 1 whereas the Farmall 450 LPG had a compression ratio of 8.35 to 1. The John Deere 620 gasoline had a compression ratio of 6.38 to 1 whereas the John Deere 620 LPG had a compression ratio of 8.10 to 1. All factory LPG tractors used this same approach plus valve rotators and hardened seats. Harold H
