My best buddy ran off with the ex-wife and sure do miss him. I like dogs and most cats, but I live in town so usualy good dogs and good neighbors many times don't go in the same sentence. I personaly would not tie one up or cage them as it is not the same as farm life for a nice dog. I don't like housework good enough for a indoor dog, so we get by petting others dogs. The father inlaws sons dog bit a kid in the face and as near as I can tell from the word on the street it's around the $60,000.00 range.
