I would agree that the Massey 1100 is a good value for what you pay for one. I like it better then the 4020 powershift I had. I also have 2520 and 3020. I really don't think the JD's are a good value compared to other tractors of the same vintage. Considering they are about twice the price of similar tractors, they certainly arn't twice the tractor. I work on all kinds of tractors from the 60's and 70's in my shop. They all have their good and bad points. I grew up on Deere tractors, but I'm becoming more fond of the Massey tractors as time goes by. A few models that would be on the top of my list are: Massey 1100, 175, 180; Case David Brown 1210, 1410; International any model from 656 to 786, or the 74/84 series; Ford 5000 to 7000 series; Too many other brands and models to list. When it comes to gas tractors. I'd only put gas in A JD two cylinder if I already owned one.
