As simple as it may sound,I find the best results finding the "in between" tractors ( the good ones with some history behind them in between the junk and the restored ones) by running want adds in local papers. The last one I "shook loose" was a '50 B and " complete" set of 2 row quick-tatch cultivators from an old farmer who had loved the tractor for the last 35 yrs. His neighbors said it could never be bought. He only lives 30 miles away and wasn't really thinking of selling it til he saw my add. The tractor holds a lot of memories for him and I promised him he could come over this summer when I get it restored and drive it again and do a picture session. This is what I mean by getting something with some history behind it . You get the satisfaction of the restoration and in some cases just might make a big difference in the life of the previous owner. By the way, I paid his asking price of 1500.00 but the reunion of him and this tractor will be priceless. His wife has a little dimentia but he is doing fine. Hope seeing the B in better than new condition will make their day. I will try my best to get this kind of "history" behind any tractor I buy. It might be something for you to think about while shopping for one. It don't cost any more than one without a recordable past or with 10 previous owners.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
