Greg, I have a 1965 GMC 4000 with the 305 V6, 4 speed, 2 speed rear axle. Mine has the solid front axle and not independent suspension like Jon is talking about. Mine has been a good truck. Speedo stopped working at 278xxx miles about 5 years ago and is still going strong. Those V6 engines were "industrial strength" with lots of iron in them. You can still get stuff like fuel pumps, starters, etc. for them. Don't know about internal parts. Farm trucks of this vintage usually sell from $900 - $2500 around here depending almost entirely on condition. Good luck.
