You need a "valve guide driver" to remove the old guides, and install the new ones. If you do not want to buy one from an outfit such as KO LEE or GOODSON, they are easy to make in the lathe.

However, do you have a valve seat grinder? The seats (if salvagable) will need to be ground to make them concentric with the new guides.

If you do not have a valve seat grinder, it will be money well spent to simply have a machine shop install the guides, then do a complete valve job.
