My girl friend put up a poster for her missing barn cat that she absolutley loves, a neighbor about a mile away stopped by and said he had the cat in his garage, they were re-united. Once in a while they just disperse and travel. I would put up a sign with poster board. From now on when I find somebodys dogs I do the same thing and it almost always works. Found two dogs the another night when I went to check on cows, thought they were coyotes and almost shot them, but then realized they were dogs, they had tags on them and I called the owners at midnight.
