I removed the head from my 1937 farmall F-12 today and was startled to find a crack in the block. The crack starts from the outside of the #3 sleeve and stops at the outside of the block. the crack is only visible from the top, I can't see it from the side of the block but I can see that it is cracked that far. Ther crack has caused the block to shift Very very slightly, just enough for the sleeve to have a ver small gap of mabe .003 of an inch between the sleeve and the waterjacket. My question is will my tractor be ok. This tractor runs but I took the head off to do a valve job. I don't get water in the oil and I don't see any water leaking from the crack. So is my block salvagalbe or should I find a new engine? It just seems to me that whare the crack is it isn't going to hurt anything. Thanks Chad F (Deere Tech)
