gm 292 inline six has 6 inch wide push rod/lifter covers, 230 and 250 have 4 inch wide. if rebuild is required later and you replace the camshaft the 230/250 will fit but will have fuel pump lobe in different location, (ask me how i know).glad youre up and running. oh, btw i have that same knot on my shin from the trailer hitch, (agin, ask me how i know. jackie
