Sounds cool. Good to encourage the wife with the collector habit, you might lose out in the short run, but if she is on the same wavelength you are with collecting any vintage vehicles, that will pay off when you find another must-have and can use her collecting habits as a bargaining chip. What's fair for the goose is good for the gander. Now you'll need a ramp truck so you can haul both the His n' Hers collector items when you go on those trips. IH Metro-Mite vans are cool, we had one in my fire department when I was younger. It was a 1964, had four cylinders, we used it as an equipment truck. It was tiny, but you could stand up in it and it would go pretty good for a four cylinder.
