Julie, you are receiving good sound advice. Only buy the tractor if the price difference is enough to have someone to switch it over to a clutch/8 speed transmission. Then if the SOS holds up you are ahead. If it fails you have the money to convert it and the value of the tractor will be that of a manual shift 3000. On the positive side I am aware of one of these tractors that has held up satisfactorily for 4700+ hours. The owner bought it cheap at around 2200 hours because of the transmissions reputation. However, he is delighted with the tractor. He is an experienced farmer and swears that it is the best tractor he has baled with because of the variable speed feature
