Neighbor and brother both had one. Brothers would bi center the tie rod and jam when steering was turned hard to port. Would have to hunt up a pry bar to snap it back. Steering wheel motor had slop in it, would have to continually turn CCW to compensate for the crown in the road. Lastly if you stall the engine you have no brakes. None. Try that between gears with 12 ton of chop dragging you backwards down the road. Neighbor had dirty drawers after that ride.
