Actually you won't. The splined end of the axle shaft has a shoulder that meets the inner wheel bearing race on the inside and a big nut (mine's 1 3/8", yours may be +/- a little depending on 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton)that tightens against the inner wheel bearing race on the outside. This will keep it turning true even if the u-joint in the axleshaft is in very bad condition. If you see that axle shaft turning off-center, I'd suspect a bad wheel bearing.
