I'd use a synthetic like Rotella 5W40 and change it once a year - in the fall. Your biggest problem is going to be moisture condensing in the oil pan. Water and oil when heated produce sludge; synthetic oil resists the effect of water and resist sludging better then dino oils. I would follow Mark’s advice and make sure you’re starting with a clean oil pan before using synthetic oil.
