The new oils from Mobil may be what you need,they have increased the additive package about 30% to allow much longer between changes,while still maintaining good additive protection. I believe thay are at 5000 miles for mineral oil,7500 for synthetic blend and 15000 for pure synthetic. I have used the Mobil 1 pure synthetic for over 20 years at once per year changes(usually 10-13,000 miles). Oil analysis has found that the oil is good for far more miles than I put on,and now should be even better with the improved additive package.
