Front drive problems on Belarus 425

Over the years I have had numerous broken and cracked front hub casings on my 425. Has anyone found a fix other then welding or replacing the whole fronthub?

Also, the owners manual states not to use 5th and 6th gears in the reducer range due to causing transmission damage. This causes a gap in speeds from 2.4 to 4 mph. I could use these speeds. Has anyone found a way around this?
