finished restoring a 47 Allis Chalmers B has approx 4 hours on the newly rebuilt engine and tractor!! I start the tractor black smoke from the exhaust also the plugs are heavily filled with black. It has the marvel schebler with fixed main jet.tried to adjust the float level does the same thing. Also when the trator is not running fuel will drip out of the air cleaner end of the car destroying the paint work. I replaced the carb with a Zenith in which was recommended by an old timer just recently installed and I am still getting black smoke. I am also noticing that fuel is dripping out of the air cleaner side of the carb. This carb also equipped with non adjustable main jet. I tried to adjust the float level still doing the same thing black smoke and gas dripping out of the air cleaner side of the carb. I do know that the car is the correct one. I have also checked the timing seems to be ok. I also want to know if any body knows about the magneto to distributor conversion . I purchased a ditributer to take the place of the magneto does this install the same way as the mag with installing it at the fire mark. I know if you read about the model CA it says that you install the distributor at the center mark CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME??????????
