I was totally against this whole day. Just didn't wanna do it, 'cause I like my old tractors and I like being out in the open. Told the wife, "How am I gonna tell him that I don’t wanna use his rig without hurting his feelings?". Anyway, I had hooked up the 686 to my disc and had made four or five rounds before he pulled in. Gotta be honest with ya, he sure could have came a little earlier and it wouldn't have hurt my feelings. That old sod was throwin' me and that little red tractor around like a cork in the ocean. Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
