Hi Old, Your friend's problem isn't all that unusual. My little hoe is on a rigid frame that extends to the front of my compact tractor. Hooks at the front and two pins at the rear. Simple attachment. This time of year I get real popular with it for landscape work. The size and weight of the tractor make it better than a full-sized hoe. Bought mine 12 yrs ago to trench 1/2 mile down the mountain for utilities. It wasn't the right tool, but it did the job. Saved me $14k. With the rigid undermount, no problem for the tractor. As far as operation, it's just like a full-sized hoe. Mine'll dig down 7'. New ones cost as much as a Case 580 CK, so I'd question the advisability for most. Other than cost, a great implement.
