Birdsfoot trefoil and/or Alice White clover with improved varieties of ryegrass, fescue, and orchard grass. They cost about 1/3 less to grow and maintain. Yield is about the same. Protien is about the same with higher energy levels and better digestability. I rotate every 3-4 years with 2 years of corn or BMR Sorgrum/Sudan grass.
