Allan. I guess you are going to get the rest of that dead tree down, aren't you? Since I have done a lot of tree work, not always happily, I will give you some suggestions. DON'T try to cut the tree with wind blowing. Even if the wind is blowing the right way, a gust of wind might twist the tree off the stump and on something valuable, like your body. One of your FELs possibly can be used to push the tree in the right direction, but watch it carefully. I don't really reccommend it because the tree could slide to one side off the bucket. What I have done to make the tree fall the right way is to fasten a come-a-long a few feet up the tree and fasten the other end to a stump or other tree in the right direction, take up slack, saw a notch on the side you want it to fall toward, put more pressure on the comealong, saw on other side part of way, put serious pressure on comealong, hopefully hearing some wood crack, saw most of the way through, apply more presure which should pull tree down. Excuse me if you already know this, but it looks like you don't have many big trees to practice on out there, LOL. Oh, IF the tree is still sound and IF there is a sawmill near, you might get some lumber sawed. KEH

My dad dreamed that some day he would have his own tractor with every implement he could get. When he rea
