While it is an interesting idea,I doubt it will fly.Around me (mid Atlantic region)Exxon/Mobil's gas is usually 2-4 cents higher than everyone elses.They are still lined up to buy it.Just about everyone has an Exxon card and aren't afraid to use it.Exxon knows this,it's the proverbial goose that laid the golden egg.They get more at the pump than their competitors,plus they rake in another 30-40% on finance charges,overlimit fees etc. The aforementioned theory could work if people actually dug in their wallets for cash when they pumped,but with all the easy credit,people will refinance their houses( to pay down last years credit card bills)continue to drive SUV's,drive a 1/4 mile rather than walk and pay $8 gallon(the current price in England) until their credit runs out,or they declare bankruptcy.JMHO
