So Allan said he had 13.9 on 12 inch rims which is the right size for that rim. Unless the company that makes the tire has on the side wall 14.9 on 12 inch rim the 14.9 is to big for the rim. Some companys make them for the norrower rim some don't. My old boss who owns one of if not the biggest company for vinage tires always said drop the point and if the tire was say a 6.50 then it fit a 5 inch rim etc. I beleive he knew what he was doing sine he owns the dies from almost all the tires from the 20s,30s,40,50,60,and 70s, for car/truck tires the ones no one makes any more. He probably the only place that can get you the same tire that came on say a 1930s ford car and it will be the same tire as what was on it new. He taught me about 75% of what I now know about tires and fixing them.
