I don't know of any magazines directed toward lawmmowers, etc but there are two that we recieve that are just good reading. The first is Diesel Progress. It's an industry magazine dealing mainly with diesel engines, in all forms and applications, and as the name suggests, covers all the newest technology. Their site is Dieselprogress.com The second I really enjoy is Machine Design. It's geared mainly toward engineers in any field, and covers alot of new stuff in the market from medical to amusement park rides, etc. If it's engineered they usually have some type of article about it. It's a fairely technical magazine but even for someone like me that doesn't understand all the fancy math problems they sometimes use, it's still a really interesting read just to see what's new in the world. Their web site is Machinedesign.com Like I said both publications always have alot of great articles, technical or not but their not really geared towared small stuff. You can check out the mags online and if you think he'd be interested you can take it from there. Both publications are free to those "in the industry". If you'd contact them and explain the situation they might just be willing to "bend the rules" for eligibility and go ahead and ofer you the free subscription too. Tell him I said Good luck.....I got hit head on myself several years ago and got exteeemely lucky. I'm walked away while they airlifted the guy that hit me....
