Most 3-point plows in my area do have some sort of depth wheel. On large mounted plows, they help a lot to maintain the depth on the rear of the plow. The one I use has a tendancy to want to dig, and it needs to be held out by the linkage and the wheel. If there was no wheel, the rear of the plow would go too deep, and want to lay over to the left.
