Well , As far as pullen the muffler off and going to bigger pipes and spending money on all of the after market stuff just stop and think on how much fuel you can buy with that money ????? . and may be it might get ya a mile so to a gallon more but it take a long time to make it up . Now this is food for thought here , When was the last time that you had the valves adjusted ???? . You are driving a DIESEL POWERED TRUCK and it does not have hyd. lifters in it and they DO have to be adjusted every so often , will it help yes on my 95 when i got it that was the first thing i did was adjust the valves as it did less on fuel milage then the 460 ford that it replaced . It was a dog as it had never been in to be put in service and never had the valves set or the pump checked . Now i know that yours is all electronic but you still have to adjust the valves . I have worked on diesels since i was a pup so it was not that big of a deal for me and i even bought the tool kit to work on the 6 BT cummins . as i figured out that if i adjusted my valves like the book sayes over the life of the truck and along with the tractors that i work on that use the 4 BT or the 6 BT then it will pay for it's self . Now from what my dodge was getting at first to what it does now was a 5 mile to a gal differance . So i guess it was out of adjustment and since then i have done 12 other dodges for friends and they all have come up on milage from a couple miles to a gallon to like mine 5 miles to a gallon. Oh yea all i was out was 6 new valve cover gskt. that i bought from Case I H as they were less money from them then dodge or cummins along with the two fuel pumps that i have had to replace .

Listening to Your Tractor - by Curtis Von Fange. Years ago there was a TV show about a talking car. Unless you are from another planet, physically or otherwise, I don’t think our internal combustion buddies will talk and tell us their problems. But, on the other hand, there is a secret language that our mechanical companions readily do speak. It is an interesting form of communication that involves all the senses of the listener. In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
