A 4wd truck locked in and dry pavement are not a good combo. Ya see the front axle is actually geared a hair faster than the rear so as to pull you through mud and snow. So if it is supposed to spin faster and can't do so on the pavement you know what will eventually give out? Anything from the hubs to the transfer case.
