Mark look about 2 inches below the number one spark plug hole (closest to radiator). There is a flat spot in the casting. Clean that and you should see a serial number. That will at least indicate the year of the engine. It may or may not have matched the frame. My three Hs have the same frame and engine number but that is not always the case when they came off the assembly line.
