Good compression rings are one thing. Good oil control rings are another. If any are gummed up or wrongly installed, this may be the cause. Compression rings in too wide a groove may oil pump while doing a reasonable job on sealing for compression. Does any cylinder oil the plug if run on light low speed load? What are plugs running like when it had been operating normally? These may indicate whether problem is local or general. Is the engine breather clear. Any crankcase pressure can push oil where it is not wanted. Look at reflections in bore to see if cylinders are oval. Valve guides can usually be quite sloppy on a flat head without causing oil burning - just poor seating and rapid valve wear. I would suspect one or more oil control rings are gummed in place, but from 4000 miles, it"s hard to be sure especially not knowing more history of motor - like what is each cylinder compression hot and then a "wet" test straight after. How long since last overhaul and what type of oil has been used. Have any other alterations been made to the engine like raised compression ratio? That 100-110 result might be good or might just be misleading. All things equal, first check breather, and you are going to check the oil rings anyway, now, aren"t you?
