After one of the coldest & driest winters on record in England its finaly started raing which is bulking up the grass. However some flash floods after cloud bursts has washed out some of the potatoes & sugarbeet seedlings. Theyve started mowing in southwest England but the SP foragers & tractors with 15 ton trailers are bogging dowm. Started mowing here on Welsh borders, grass will be round baled and wrapped in plastic as haylage if they can get a dry day after mowing to wilt the grass, otherwise its "wet" silage if the rain persists. The vegetable growers in this area are struggling with the wet conditions, tractors with front mounted picking tables towing processing trailers are bogging down in the rows. Farming is a great life and so profitable !!! Have a good day guys, regards David
