NH 472 Haybine Problems

Does anyone have a NH haybine with the "stub" knives that has done well cutting? Bought mine about 7 years ago which replaced another NH haybine with the big teeth. They told me the snubbies wouldn't choke down as much, and they don't. But they leave a terrible cut. I've adusted till my face is blue (reel speed / drop) tried lifting the head up a little from full down. Changed all the teeth in the sicklebar.
Does anyone of these have one that cuts worth a dime?
