Allan, Back when I was in the Okie Strip, we had to bale our Alfalfa at night after the dew came up. Or it would shatter out way too much and leave nothing but stems. We never had any problem with spoilage or mold of any kind. We would rather bale in the day time, but the dryier humiditify of the high plains pretty much dictated it.
Or you will need that chemical (sprayed on the crop as it goes into the bales) that allowes you to bale at higher miosture content. anyway good luck on the next cutting!
