I have a bunch of them around my barn. They are Carpenter Bees. They are real hard to hit in mid air with the wasp/hornet spray. The best thing that I have found for knocking them out of the air is my weed burner from Harbor Freight which is attached to a 20 lb propane tank. Gets them from 10 feet or more and they drop straight to the ground. As a bonus, its lots of fun.
