Check out "www.dixon-ztr.com". They have commercial quality 20+hp mowers. The reason I'm recommending it is that I bought my Dixon model 428 10 years ago and I just had to fix my first major items. The front wheel swivels wore out and a drive shaft bent. I have mowed a one & one-half to two acre yard with over 20 evergreens, a fruit orchard with a dozen trees, several deciduous, as well as other ornamentals. It took me from 4 to 6 hours with a 18 hp Dynamark Ground Engaging tractor while it took me about 3 hours with the Dixon and it was only 12 hp with a rear bagger. The nephews and nieces used to always come over and ask to ride as a go-cart. It still uses no oil and cuts great. I recently moved, and my new neighbors have been very impressed with it's handling of a vacant lot that I cleared next door. Only my head showed above the grass and weeds. Thanks for your time

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing. ... [Read Article]
